The   New   Directions   in   the   Study   of   Alcohol   Group   (NDSAG)    is   concerned   with   the   use   and   abuse   of   alcohol   in   society,   and   the treatment   of   people   with   alcohol-related   problems.   Its   aim   is   to   promote   a   better   understanding   of   these   topics.   The   Group   is   mainly   a forum   for   debate;   where   anybody   concerned   with   helping   people   with   drinking   problems   is   encouraged   to   exchange   ideas,   share   results and learn about new developments in the field. NDSAG is hosting a symposium for researchers early in their careers, from 12.00noon Thursday 14th September until 2.00pm Friday 15th. Lunch and tea and coffee refreshments will be provided on each day .   An evening drinks reception will take place on Thursday evening. These are all included in the price of the booking. Attendees should arrange their own accommodation and travel needs. An evening meal will be organised for those wishing to join in and/or staying locally. This is a small an intimate event and places are limited to a maximum of 25. Places to attend need to be booked in advance and the cost is £25. Membership has been reviewed from 2017 onwards
The New Directions in the Study of Alcohol Group (NDSAG) is a membership organisation, which anyone with an interest in the alcohol field is invite to join. Following a decision at our 2016 AGM, current membership runs from each AGM, and is part of the conference fees. Thereafter, there will be no annual membership fee and membership will be conveyed to anyone attending our annual conference. Existing members who do not attend a conference will continue to be kept informed of NDSAG activities and have access to any membership areas of the website which are planned (eg our journal archives). If you are not attending conferences and wish to contribute to the running of the group, you can contact us via Andy Perkins  andyperkins@f8c.co.uk or conference@ndsag.org 
  New Directions Journal
The New Directions in the Study of Alcohol Group published a report from its annual conferences. 'New Directions' Journal contained the pick of papers from each conference, and additional members' papers and correspondence on themes of alcohol interventions. Contents pages for most of our Journals can now be downloaded as a PDF file. Some individual papers may be available to members as PDF scans on request. There are some sets available of the New Directions in the Study of Alcohol Journals from the past 20 years (#19 to 35 - very limited copies of 28, 22, 20 & 33), these can be purchased for £25 including UK postage. Please send request by paypal to ndsag.bookings@gmail.com clearly marked “NDSAG Journal” and dont forget to include your postal address. Free single issues of the Journal can be requested by sending a stamped and self-addressed envelope, A5 “large letter” to the address below. Please contact us for cost of UK postage more than 3 issues or overseas postage. For online previews of the NDSAG Journal content, check the 25th Anniversary special edition and the introductory samples from the 2007 and 2008 Journals. Submissions to the New Directions Journal remain copyright of the respective authors, who have donated them to the Group for publication in the Journal and sharing within the Group.
